Power to the ones who produce
Rural electrifcation cooperatives are fundamental for the distribution and
commercialization of energy in the state of Santa Catarina. The main reference in
the sector is Cooperativa Pioneira de Eletrifcação –Coopera (Pioneer Cooperative
of Electrifcation- Coopera), which has more than 50 years of activities, and,
today, is considered the biggest in the state in the electric power sector.
Coopera started its activities with only 60 entrepreneurs, who gathered
strength to enable the electrification of their properties. Working in the
municipalities of Forquilhinha, Criciúma, Nova Veneza, and Maracajá, it has
1,620 km of networks, and monthly demand of 39,644 kW, with distribution
in three delivery units. The monthly average of the energy acquired gets to
around 18 thousand kWh.
In 2012, the cooperative applied around R$ 4 million in reform and
construction of energy distribution network. They have also made improvements
on the social area, on the habilitation of professionals, on information technology,
and they have also renewed their feet to obtain greater productivity.
With the motto “power to the ones who produce, trust in the ones
who work”, Coopera has been fulfilling the social role on jobs generation,
social, political, and economic development, throughout the years. Socio-
environmental responsibility is also another theme approached by the
company, which participates of social, environmental, educational, cultural,
and citizenship projects. The actions are focused on its members, families,
and community, and benefits thousands of people.

As cooperativas de eletrifcação rural
são fundamentais à distribuição e à co-
mercialização de energia no estado de
Santa Catarina. Principal referência no
setor, a Cooperativa Pioneira de Eletrif-
cação (Coopera) tem mais de 50 anos de
atividades e é considerada, hoje, a maior
do estado no setor de energia elétrica.
A Coopera iniciou suas atividades com
apenas 60 empreendedores, que uniram
esforços para viabilizar a eletrifcação de
suas propriedades. Com atuação nos mu-
nicípios de Forquilhinha, Criciúma, Nova
Veneza e Maracajá, ela possui 1.620 km
de redes e demanda mensal de 39.644
kW, com distribuição em três pontos de
entrega. A média mensal de energia ad-
quirida chega a cerca de 18 mil kWh.
Em 2012, a cooperativa aplicou
cerca de R$ 4 milhões em reforma e
construção de redes de distribuição de
energia. Também fzeram melhorias na
área social, na capacitação de profs-
sionais, na tecnologia da informação e
também renovaram a frota para obter
maior produtividade.
Com o lema “força a quem produz,
confança em quem trabalha”, a Coopera
vem ao longo dos anos cumprindo papel
social na geração de empregos, desen-
volvimento social, político e econômico.
A responsabilidade socioambiental tam-
bém é outro tema abordado pela em-
presa, que participa de projetos sociais,
ambientais, educacionais, culturais e de
cidadania. As ações são direcionadas aos
associados, familiares e comunidade, e
benefcia milhares de pessoas.
